Opening Hours: April to October: Monday - Saturday 11.00am till 4.00pm Sundays (Only in June, July and August ) 2.00pm till 4.00 pm Entry FREE (all children must be accompanied by an adult)

Opened in 1993, Dalbeattie Museum charts the history of the Granite Town and has thousands of items which tell the story of Dalbeattie, its people and times past. 


The exhibits range from items as small as a button to a black range from a house at Moss Road. 


A very rare item in the collection is a 100 year old Washing Machine which is still in working order. This item has also featured many times on the Antiques Road show. 


Other diverse exhibits inlcude an old Barrel Organ, an Army bunker, early Wedding Gowns from the 1890's to 1950's, a Victorian kitchen display, Military and War memorabilia and a pewter mug reputed to have been owned by Jean Armour, wife of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns. 


The Museum also boasts a collection of over 200 cameras, radios and many models including steam models.
